Intermec has released a new scanner for Australia and New Zealand – the SF61B, a compact wireless mobility scanner optimised for distribution centre (DC), transportation and logistics, field service and healthcare operations.

The wireless SF61B has been designed to integrate with Android, iOS and Windows Mobile tablets and smartphones. The scanner is claimed to have the quickest time-to-read 2D imaging technology in its class, enabling fast and dependable data collection.

The SF61B is a wireless mobility scanner suitable for users who require reliable scanning performance, long battery life and ruggedness in a compact form factor similar to a small torch.

Unlike traditional gun-shaped scanners that are not designed for workers on the go, the SF61B features a magnetic attach / release system that allows the device to be quickly accessed or securely stowed away as needed.

The SF61B comes with integrated Bluetooth wireless providing up to 100 metres of wireless range, and so is able to pair with Android, iOS, and Windows Mobile tablets and smartphones already deployed.
